Producer / The Jazz Life / Pioneer Laserdisc. A series of six one-hour performance videos featuring Art Blakey with Wynton Marsalis and Branford Marsalis, Johnny Griffin, Chico Hamilton, Mike Mainieri, Nat Adderly and Richie Cole.

Host / Artistic Director for "Jazz Alive," National Public Radio. Weekly national live jazz performances. Winner of 1982 Peabody Award.


1983 - 1985

Contributor to "All Things Considered," National Public Radio. Weekly music reviews and news features.


1986

Music Director / "Sass & Brass" / Cinemax. A one hour special featuring Sarah Vaughan with Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, Don Cherry, Al Hirt, Ron Carter, etc.
